A Report On The Translation Of Internet Of Things For Smart Cities:Technologies,Big Data And Security(Chapter 1,Chapter 2)

This is a project on the translation of Internet of Things for Smart Cities for Smart Cities: Technologies,Big Data and Security by Waleed Ejaz and Alagan Anpalagan,of which Chapter 1 “Internet of Things for Smart Cities: Overview and Key Challenges” and Chapter 2 “Communication Technologies and Protocols for Smart Cities” are the source text.In the Chapter 1,the author gives the six characteristics of smart cities,Io T-based solutions for smart cites and challenges.In the Chapter 2,the author provides communication technologies for Io T networks such as cellular communication technology and non-cellular communication technology,as well as study of communication technology through two cases-use analysis.The main contents of this report are divided into five parts: The first part is the introduction to the source text,including background and significance.The second part focuses on the introduction to the book's authors,the main content and linguistic feature of the source text.The third part mainly talks about theoretical basis: Nida's functional equivalence theory.The fourth part gives description about some difficulties and challenges in the translation process including terms,charts and long sentences.To solve these problems,the author uses translation methods such as literal translation,free translation and zero translation and translation techniques such addition and conversion.Lastly,the fifth part provides the conclusion of the whole translation project,including inspiration,lessons and the points that need to be improved.
