A high-efficiency off-axis coupling method for rotating optical signal transmission has been proposed based on the internal conical reflection.Single channel and multichannel off-axis coupling models are established.According to the analysis, the coupling loss depends on both the reflectivity of,and the number of reflections between, the conical and the circular plane mirrors.According to geometric relationship, the functions of structural parameters of the single channel and multi channel off-axis coupling model are analysed.Through theoretical analysis, the values of parameters are given and the number of reflection is determined.Meanwhile, the off-axis coupling model is simulated and experimentally demonstrated.Main work of this paper:1.The reflection theory of internal conical reflection is analyzed based on Fermat principle. The transmission path of reflected beam is discussed, and the relationship between the coordinates of each reflection point is derived theoretically.2.Single channel off-axis coupling model is established. The optical path, transmission condition and influence factor of off-axis transmission of beam are analyzed and discussed.According togeometric relationship, the structural parameters of the single channel off-axis coupling model are analyzed and the reasonable values are determined.Moreover,multi-channel models are established and determined on the ground of single channel model by adding input channels and transmission channels,respectively.3.The propagation of single-channel and multi-channel beams has been simulated by Light Tools software. The experimental systems of single channel and multi-channel models are established, and the performance of these systems has been tested. The simulation and experimental results are in good agreement with theoretical predictions. The accuracy of single channel and multi-channel off-axis coupling models is verified.
