Cognitive radio technology is a new technology based on software defined radio technology,which aims to improve the utilization of spectrum resources.Meanwhile,with the development of cognitive radio technology and ad hoc network technology,the target of improving spectrum resource utilization is extended.The goal of cognitive radio is no longer limited to the improvement of spectrum resource utilization,but to the exploration of radio environment and the application of artificial intelligence technology in this direction.Radio environment map is a database for storing multi-dimensional representation of radio environment information,which plays an important role in wireless communication network.The cognitive engine is a component which integrates the functions of analysis,processing,reasoning,decision-making,execution and learning,triggers the corresponding process that needs to change the radio resource configuration inside it,and performs configuration in combination with the corresponding interfaces in the network.It is the bridge between the radio environment and the terminal equipment.Radio environment map provides radio environment awareness support for cognitive engine.Meanwhile,the combination of the two can realize a complete cognitive loop,and give radio equipment or wireless communication network intelligence.In this paper,we focus on how to construct a precise radio environment map,the combination of the radio environment map and the cognitive engine,and the application in the wireless communication network after the combination of the two.The specific work includes:(1)Under the new trend of the international research on radio environment map,optimize the deployment of sensor nodes and improve the interpolation resolution are two main directions of constructing high-precision radio environment map.In this paper,a framework of radio environment map construction based on super-resolution technology is proposed in the case of reasonable deployment of sensor nodes,which includes Kriging interpolation,dictionary learning and application of stochastic forest method.(2)Based on the support of radio environment map to wireless communication network and the classical cognitive engine structure,the modular design of embedded cognitive engine based on radio environment map is completed in this paper.Moreover,we adopt OPNET,a network simulation software,which is use to realize that functions of different module in the designed cognitive engine.(3)Starting from the importance of routing protocol to wireless communication networks,this paper analyzes the traditional routing scheme based on geographical location,and designs a routing scheme combining greedy boundary stateless routing with radio environment map.Meanwhile,we apply the new routing scheme to the designed cognitive engine.Using OPNET to test and analyze the benefits which brings by the application of cognitive engine based on radio environment map.The simulation results verify that the efficiency of improving the network throughput and reducing the packet loss rate under the application of the cognitive engine component based on the radio environment map in the network.
