With the 5-th generation(5G)wireless communication entering the commercial use in China,5G devices and 5G services have already stepped onto people's life.In 5G novel wireless communication scenarios,data amounts and types increase rapidly,implying that much larger capacity and higher data rate are necessary in 5G communication systems.Massive multipleinput-multiple-output(MIMO),which is one of the most important technology in 5G,is capable of achieving the goal of enhancing capacity and data rate.However,hardware complexity and computational complexity skyrocket caused by introducing massive MIMO technology in systems.Therefore,long latency and high power consumption are inevitable.In order to solve these problems,this thesis introduced antenna selection(AS)algorithm,which aims to lower down the complexities and maintain the MIMO advantages.Moreover,focusing on the two categories of AS algorithm,norm-based AS(NBAS)and capacity-based AS(CBAS),this thesis investigated their principles and properties.And based on their complexities and availability,as well as the novel communication scenarios,several original intelligent antenna selection algorithms have been proposed.Last but not least,an AS aided MIMO software defined radio(SDR)communication framework has been constructed for systematic analysis in AS algorithm investigation.In detail,the works in this paper are as follow:(1)Based on the simplicity and high availability of NBAS,we introduced NBAS algorithm into the novel communication scenarios,such as low power wide area internet of things communications,long distance MIMO cooperative communications and massive multi-user MIMO communications.According to the features of these scenarios,the novel intelligent NBAS algorithms have been proposed.Moreover,this part is going to analyze the communication performance of the proposed NBAS algorithms,for instance,bit error rate,channel capacity and outage probability,to reflect the advantage of AS algorithms.(2)CBAS algorithm has the strong optimization capability and is not affected by channel properties,but has high computational complexity.Therefore,inspired greatly by intelligent computation,we proposed the swarm intelligence based AS algorithms,which transforms the traditional mathematics-driven optimization into data-driven optimization,to further lower the computational complexity of CBAS.According to the analysis of communication performance,we can illustrate the swarm intelligence based AS is capable of making a good job.(3)An AS aided MIMO SDR communications framework has been constructed.By adopting the SDR device of National Instruments,we introduced AS algorithm in MIMO systems.By performance analysis in realisitic communication system,the advantages of AS algorithm can be reflected much specifically.
