With the advent of the Internet of Everything,large-scale industrial devices are connected to the edge network,and these devices are generating massive amounts of data at all times,which not only makes the scale of data collection and devices management increasingly large,but also brings challenges to task processing.The gateway system integrates the Internet and industrial networks,completes the conversion of different types of protocols,and provides a platform for data collection and device management.On this basis,the introduction of edge computing can make full use of the network edge resources for timely task processing.At the same time,as a network application layer protocol stack,OPC UA technology is more and more widely used in the Industrial Internet of Things due to its comprehensive functions,transmission security and cross-platform characteristics.However,the existing edge computing gateway system lacks its favorable support.Therefore,a gateway system for edge computing based on OPC UA technology was designed and implemented,which provides a good edge gateway solution for OPC UA devices.The edge computing gateway system is based on the Edge X Foundry edge computing project.It uses a microservice architecture as a whole,and is divided into different modules according to the functions to be implemented.Each module is composed of interrelated microservices.Based on the implementation of traditional OPC UA gateway functions including protocol conversion,data collection,device management and data export,it also implements data display function and alarm function based on a visualization tool and rule engine respectively,which enrich the functions of the gateway system and accelerate the speed of data analysis and processing.Functional and performance tests of the system was conducted in the end.It is shown in the test result that the proposed edge computing gateway system can provide the above functions normally,and still have good performance in a high concurrency environment,suitable for the intelligent management of OPC UA devices.
