As an important development direction of image processing,electronic image stabilization technology plays a significant role in the real-time,accuracy and reliability of the image stabilization platform.The electronic image stabilization system has been widely used in military and civilian fields,and it has promoted the rapid development of target tracking technology and video enhancement technology.At the same time,with the rapid development of hardware and software,the miniaturization process of electronic equipment is rapidly changing.The original serial image matching detection method has hindered the further development of real-time image stabilization of video processing systems.Therefore,exploring new methods for parallel processing of image stabilization data has important engineering application value for improving the performance of electronic image stabilization systems.In view of the shortcomings of traditional electronic image stabilization technology,this thesis designs an FPGA real-time image stabilization system based on gray-scale projection.The specific research work and contributions are as follows:1.The classical motion estimation algorithm is analyzed and summarizes the applicable scenarios,advantages and disadvantages of the algorithm.Based on the applicable scenarios,advantages and disadvantages of the two motion compensation algorithms,an effective frame compensation method and image stabilization evaluation standard are proposed.2.The theoretical analysis,algorithm selection and simulation analysis of electronic image stabilization technology were carried out.Through theoretical analysis,the reasons for choosing gray projection motion estimation are explained.The gray-scale projection image stabilization algorithm lays the foundation for hardware implementation in accordance with the processes of image pre-processing,gray-scale projection,projection filtering,cross-correlation calculation,and motion compensation.3.The design scheme of electronic image stabilization hardware based on FPGA is proposed.The working mode of the image stabilization system is explained from the two aspects of image acquisition module and algorithm hardware transplantation.The gray-scale projection module ensures the time required for motion estimation and the compensation accuracy of the system through image cropping;Base on the parallel nature of FPGA,the introduction of fast median filtering algorithm and line-field transformation image compensation technology reduces the storage delay of video sequences and improves the system response speedThis thesis uses the FPGA development board of XILINX Company,the device cooperates with VIVADO software to carry on online simulation and test on image acquisition,image preprocessing,gray projection estimation,motion compensation and image display.The experimental results show that the platform to stabilize the image gray-level projection system based on FPGA platform can achieve 10 x 10 stability as the scope of compensation,the device has high fidelity and the processing speed can reach the civilian standard of 30 frames per second,and it has a good image stabilization effect on video jitter sequence.
