Developing along with computer technology and mobile internet,the smart mobile devices have become the major equipment for the public to access the internet,and have greatly revolutionized the daily lives of the general.On smart mobile devices,various locationbased applications have emerged and enriched,which brought users highly diverse of convenience indeed.Since location-based applications need users' coordinates for services providing,meanwhile,location data can be correlated to users' identities or time,applications are able to infer users' privacy information readily.For example,users' location at night are corresponding to their home addresses,moreover,their working places can be inferred by their location in daytime,in addition,according to their routes in weekends,applications can easily ascertain users' habits even consumption level.When applications have granted location permissions,they may gather users' personal information,as well as analyze users' privacy and profile users,which means while users enjoying benefits brought by location-based applications,their location privacy are exposed to the risk of being vulnerably attacked and leaked either.Once the location privacy of a compromised user is exploited by a malicious user or attacker,it will cause incalculable losses to users of location-based services.Hence maintaining location-based services functional as well as preserving users' location privacy from being violated or leaked have become a research hot spot in the academy while mobile internet developing fast.Aiming at tackling the issues mentioned above,this paper proposes and implements an applications-oriented users' location privacy preserving technique.Specifically,we mainly construct our work as follows:First of all,we analyze popular location-based applications to prove their curiosity and greed to users' location privacy,meanwhile,we try to probe methods applications used to grab users' location data in Android platform.Secondly,for preserving users' location privacy while maintaining location-based services functional,this paper designs the applications-oriented users' location privacy preserving technique,which prevents location-based applications from reaching users' location privacy as well as allows users enjoying benefits with such applications.Moreover,based on the proposed technique,this paper constructs a novel location privacy preserving model with high flexibility and security.The privacy preserving strategy can be customized by users to meet the actual and realistic scenes,meanwhile,the model is arranged to defense various known attacks.Last but not least,the applications-oriented users' location privacy preserving model is implemented on Android system.The finishing work of this paper includes security analysis and performance evaluation of such model,which indicate that the proposed technique and model achieve designed goal,in addition,lower computation and communication cost overhead are realized compared to traditional dummy-based location privacy preserving schemes.
