With the transformation of China's higher education from the rapid development stage to the high-quality development stage, the evaluation methods of higher education quality have also changed correspondingly. In recent years, all walks of life tend to pay more attention to the learning ability and level of college students themselves. For undergraduates majoring in special education, the particularity and complexity of educational objects put forward higher requirements for undergraduates majoring in special education in terms of professional knowledge reserve and professional practical ability.Undergraduate students majoring in special education in China will be the main force in the teaching front line of special education schools in the future, and their professional knowledge student engagement level is directly related to their overall quality performance in special education. The influencing factors of special education undergraduates' student engagement are complex and diverse, among them, the environment in which special education undergraduates are located and the degree of perception in this environment have a key influence on their student engagement. On this basis, the research uses questionnaire, literature review, and interview as research tools, and takes “questionnaire on student engagement of undergraduates majoring in special education” and “questionnaire on social support of undergraduates majoring in special education” as tools to investigate the student engagement and understanding social support of465 undergraduates majoring in Special Education, and further explore the relationship between understanding social support and student engagement.Research found:1.The measurement indicators of “questionnaire on student engagement of undergraduates majoring in special education” and “questionnaire on social support of undergraduates majoring in special education” meet the psychological measurement standards.2.The overall level of student engagement of undergraduates majoring in special education is good.Among them, the level of behavioral engagement is significantly higher than that of emotional and cognitive engagement. The cognitive engagement level of undergraduates majoring in special education in L University is significantly higher than that of undergraduates majoring in special education in C University. The level of behavioral involvement of undergraduates majoring in special education who are student cadres is significantly higher than that of undergraduates who are not student cadres.3.The undergraduates majoring in special education have a good understanding of the overall level of social support.Among them, the ability to comprehend family support is the strongest, followed by peer support, and teacher support is relatively weak.In C universities, the comprehension ability of peer support of special education majors transferred to this major is significantly lower than that of non-transferred undergraduates, while the comprehension ability of teacher support of special education majors transferred to this major is significantly higher than that of non-transferred undergraduates.4.There is a close relationship between student engagement and perceived social support of special education majors, and the correlation is significant,as is the relationship between their sub-dimensions.Further analysis shows that teacher support is an important predictor of emotional and behavioral engagement of undergraduates majoring in special education.Peer support is an important predictor of cognitive engagement of undergraduates majoring in special education.Based on the above research results, relevant educational suggestions include: Firstly, diversification of evaluation methods of professional learning in schools;secondly, teachers' guidance on the effectiveness of professional learning strategies;thirdly, the creation of professional learning atmosphere among peers;fourthly, the exertion of individual professional learning initiative.Research recommendations include: Firstly, expanding the subjects of the study;secondly, deepening the content of the study.
