Musical instruments are the material components of ancient Chinese music culture,and musical instrument imagery is the carrier of ancient Chinese music culture.The musical instrument imagery in classical poetry is rich in traditional culture and also has unique emotional characteristics because of the culture it contains.A study of the teaching of musical instrument imagery in classical poetry can help draw the attention of teachers and students to the imagery of musical instruments,improve their understanding of it,and pass on traditional Chinese culture.There are many kinds of musical instrument imagery in Chinese textbooks of junior high school,and they can be classified into four categories: air,string,body,and membrane instruments according to the acoustic vibration characteristics of musical instruments.Teaching musical instrument imagery in classical poetry can enrich students' literary knowledge,guide them to understand the role of musical instrument imagery in classical poetry,exercise their imaginative and divergent thinking,cultivate their aesthetic perception ability,enhance their aesthetic creativity,help them establish correct values,and show them the excellent Chinese traditional culture.For the musical instrument imagery in Chinese textbooks of junior high school,the following teaching strategies can be used: firstly,for the typical musical instrument imagery,teachers can use allusion teaching and group reading teaching to enrich students' knowledge reserve about musical instrument imagery;secondly,for the distinctive musical instrument imagery,teachers can help students accurately grasp its characteristics and cultivate students' image thinking through model visuals,while for musical instrument imagery with rich connotation,teachers can develop students' divergent thinking through comparative reading;thirdly,teachers can guide students to perceive the beauty of poetic environment created by musical instrument imagery through contextual teaching;finally,teachers can use thematic instruction to enable students to learn about and pass on the culture while collaborating on a series of group learning tasks.The group reading strategy for musical instrument imagery is based on the understanding of the students' situation,and the teacher-student interviews and reflections are conducted after the practice.In conclusion,using musical instrument imagery as a topic for group reading can deepen students' understanding of the emotional connotation of this musical instrument imagery,stimulate their interest in learning about musical instrument imagery in classical poetry,and draw their attention to it.But teachers need to take into account students' expressive and analytical abilities before implementation,and they need to provide timely guidance to students during the implementation process in order to improve their overall participation.
