Pictorial history is widely used in history teaching because of its vividness and intuitiveness in comparison with textual history.With the new curriculum reform,significant changes have taken place in the way history subjects are taught and in textbooks.The proportion of pictures in history textbooks is increasing year by year,and the use of pictures in classroom teaching is becoming increasingly important in this changing situation.It is worthwhile to study how to properly understand and use history pictures as a learning vehicle,so that they can be used in the history classroom to show historical facts more visually,better serve history teaching,make history teaching more attractive and interesting,and better cultivate students' subject matter literacy as well as the goal of cultivating people through moral education.The thesis takes the book State System and Social Governance as an example and examines the images it has selected.It is divided into four parts.The first part,"State System and Social Governance",analyses the changes in the selection of pictures in "State System and Social Governance" by comparing it with the People's Edition of "History",Compulsory 1.Part II examines the characteristics of the choice of pictures in State System and Social Governance and the significance of the pictures so chosen to understand the intentions of the textbook writers.The third part Challenges in the Use of Pictures in State System and Social Governance,examines some of the problems in the use of pictures.The fourth part,examines the strategies and examples of the use of pictures in State Institutions and Social Governance,and uses the examples as a basis for studying how the pictures can be better used in classroom teaching.The thesis aims to study the pedagogical value of photo-historical materials and their use in teaching practice,so as to provide reference for history teaching to explore the path of cultivating core literacy and realize the fundamental task of establishing moral education.
