Chemistry is a subject closely connected with society,environment and technology.At the same time,chemistry is also an experiment-based discipline.It guides students' exploration and research through the establishment of real life and social situations,thus cultivating students' observation,hands-on ability and creativity,enhance the sense of social responsibility.STSE education consists of science,technology,society and environment,emphasizing interdisciplinary learning and integrated development.Both STSE education and chemistry experiment are focused on cultivating students' comprehensive ability.Therefore,this research integrates the STSE education concept into the experiment improvement and practice,in order to better develop the students' core quality of "scientific inquiry and innovation consciousness",and improve the experiment teaching effect.The research contents of this paper are as follows: First of all,based on the analysis of the literature on STSE Education and chemical experiment improvement at home and abroad,the concepts of STSE education and chemical experiment teaching and chemical experiment improvement are defined,and the relevant researches at home and abroad are sorted out,thus established the theoretical basis of this article.And on that basis,through questionnaires and interviews to understand the reasons for the poor results of the experiment,to analyze the contents of the chemical exploratory experiment in senior middle schools,and to find the combination point with STSE education for the study;to take STSE education as the guiding ideology,summarize the principles of experimental teaching.On the basis of theoretical research,select the part of inquiry experiment in chemistry compulsory first volume and chemistry compulsory second volume of People's education edition(2019),follow the principle of experiment teaching,improve and practice the experiment based on the idea of STSE education.In chemistry experiment teaching,through the data analysis before and after the questionnaire of "scientific inquiry and innovative consciousness",we can understand the change of students' scientific inquiry ability and innovative thinking;Through the comparison of the results of chemical experiment questions,the effect of experimental teaching on promoting students' understanding of chemical knowledge is understood.The practice shows that the experiment is improved and practiced based on the theory of STSE education,and it is found that the students' eight dimensions of scientific inquiry accomplishment have been improved,and the overall "scientific inquiry and innovation consciousness" accomplishment has been improved In contrast to analytical chemistry's experimental questions,students' scores in chemistry experiments have risen significantly,especially at the intermediate level.The experiment teaching based on STSE education idea has certain effect in senior high school chemistry teaching,in order to provide the reference for the researcher to carry on the experiment improvement and the related research of teaching.According to the situation,this paper puts forward two suggestions: to allocate teaching facilities,to enrich teaching resources,to change educational ideas and to optimize teachers' strength.However,due to the singleness of teaching cases,the limited number of samples and the limitation of teaching level,the conclusion still needs further research and verification.
