The promulgation of "General High School Mathematics Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition)" has made mathematical modeling in the six core mathematics literacy a hot topic of current research.Mathematical modeling is a bridge link between the real world and the mathematical world.Promoting high school students to apply the theoretical knowledge they have learned is conducive to improving students’ logical thinking ability,innovative awareness and other comprehensive qualities.Therefore,it is particularly important to build an evaluation framework to measure students’ mathematical modeling ability.Through the analysis of the mathematical modeling process,this research defines the mathematical modeling process as modeling,model solution,model verification,model interpretation,and table model.Based on the process orientation,the mathematical modeling ability is divided into modeling ability,Model resolution ability,model inspection ability,model interpretation ability,model presentation ability,and these five sub-abilities are listed as evaluation dimensions for evaluating students’ mathematical modeling ability.According to the analysis of each evaluation dimension,each evaluation dimension has three Behavioral indicators.The combination of expert consultation method and entropy weight method is used to determine the weight of each evaluation indicator,and the collected data is analyzed in detail with software such as SPSS,Excel,Matlab,etc.,so as to construct a mathematical modeling ability evaluation framework,including 5 evaluation dimensions and 15 behavior indicators.In order to verify the rationality of the evaluation framework,two test questions of "shoe number problem" and "packing color rope problem" were selected in the 2017 new curriculum standard,and the students in three classes in one middle school were selected as the test objects.The mathematical modeling evaluation framework in the 2017 new curriculum standard and the evaluation framework constructed in this study are used to analyze and evaluate the students’ answer papers respectively.It is stipulated that 0-0.7points correspond to level one,0.7 points-0.9 points correspond to level two,0.9 points-1 points correspond to level three.Using this research to construct an evaluation framework,the evaluation results of the test objects obtained are:(1)The overall mathematical modeling ability of the test objects is weak,and only a few students have a solid foundation in mathematical modeling.(2)The test objects have a certain understanding of mathematical modeling,However,the overall awareness of mathematical modeling is insufficient,and the ability to substitute mathematical results into actual problems for interpretation and testing is lacking.The evaluation results show that this evaluation framework is reasonable and feasible.
