As one of the core qualities of geography,comprehensive thinking is the essential character and key ability for students to adapt to the needs of life-long development and social development,and theme teaching is one of the most effective teaching methods to improve the core qualities of geography.This paper uses the methods of questionnaire and interview to investigate the current situation of high school students' comprehensive thinking of geography and the thematic teaching of middle school geography.On this basis,it puts forward the principles and Strategies of the teaching design and implementation of the comprehensive thinking of geography by the thematic teaching method,and designs specific teaching cases based on them,and analyzes and evaluates the implementation effect.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)Geographical comprehensive thinking is a kind of thinking mode and ability based on the concept of system,which regards geographical environment as an organic whole,and systematically and dynamically understands and grasps the nature and law of geographical events from multiple dimensions by using comprehensive methods.It is an important thinking method of geographical research,which is mainly composed of three dimensions: the integration of elements,the integration of regions and the integration of time and space.Geography theme teaching refers to a teaching method that integrates knowledge and principles related to a geography theme,and enables students to obtain the subject,social and practical significance of geography knowledge by coordinating various elements of the teaching system,so as to promote the development of students' geography subject literacy.Generally,it can be divided into Geoscience,human environment,location and regional analysis Class.The research shows that the comprehensive thinking of geography can provide guidance for the thematic teaching of geography,and the thematic teaching is an effective teaching method that can promote the development of students' comprehensive thinking ability of geography.(2)Through investigation and analysis,it is found that the main characteristics of the cultivation of comprehensive geographical thinking of senior high school students are as follows: the overall level of comprehensive geographical thinking of senior high school students is not high;senior high school students generally hold a positive attitude towards improving their own comprehensive geographical thinking;there are many problems in the comprehensive geographical thinking of senior high school students,such as one-sided thinking;the cultivation of comprehensive geographical thinking of students in teaching is not so good There are certain difficulties.The current situation of the application of theme teaching is: teachers have basic understanding of the connotation of theme teaching,and generally recognize the teaching effect of theme teaching;students have a high degree of acceptance of theme teaching;the actual use rate of theme teaching in high school geography teaching is not high.(3)In order to effectively improve the comprehensive thinking ability of middle school students in geography,the main strategies should be taken in teaching design when using the theme teaching method: focusing on social life,making knowledge learning concrete;ingeniously integrating teaching content,making the inquiry process active;creating question situation,making classroom thinking in-depth,etc.In the process of teaching implementation,we should follow the principles of interaction and development,and adopt the strategies of introducing teaching with learning guidance plan,promoting teaching with questions and feedback.(4)This paper takes the theme of "long river and endless mother river" as the theme,designs a theme teaching case,and evaluates the implementation effect through comparative experiments.The results show that the comprehensive thinking level of Geography in the experimental class is higher than that in the control class in three dimensions,in which the improvement of the comprehensive thinking ability of time and space is similar to that of region,and the improvement of the comprehensive thinking ability of elements is the most significant.
