A Study On The Efficiency Of Physical Education Venue Construction In Primary And Secondary Schools In Urumqi Based On Data Envelopment Analysis(DEA)

The construction of school sports venues is one of the important measures to implement quality education,and primary and secondary schools are an important stage in the development of school sports in China,so schools are urged to upgrade their sports venues and facilities in order to guarantee the normal implementation of physical education.This paper mainly uses the comparative analysis method and data envelopment analysis(DEA)to analyse the physical education venues,physical education funding,physical education teachers and physical education classes in primary and secondary schools in Urumqi.Combined with the economic and social development and education investment in Urumqi,this paper uses DEA to study the efficiency of physical education venue construction in primary and secondary schools in Urumqi,pointing out the existence of physical education venue construction problems and shortcomings,and finally draw conclusions and recommendations.It provides a theoretical basis for improving school sports facilities and making corresponding adjustments to the construction of sports grounds in primary and secondary schools at a later stage,so as to lay a good foundation for the physical education career in Urumqi.Conclusions:(1)2019 Urumqi primary and secondary schools have a high rate of meeting the standard of physical education venue equipment,but the school physical education venue equipment is not reasonable.(2)Insufficient funding for sports work in schools,with a negative correlation between the proportion of funding dedicated to sports venues and equipment and the proportion of funding invested in sports work in 50% of school types in Urumqi;and insufficient numbers of physical education teachers.(3)More than half of the school types in primary and secondary schools in Urumqi in 2019 had a non-DEA effective site construction efficiency,indicating an unreasonable structure of their inputs and outputs.(4)Some schools had input redundancy values and output deficiency values in PE venue construction efficiency,indicating irrational management of PE teaching venues and wasteful use of funds in that school type.Recommendation:(1)Reasonable allocation of sports field equipment and facilities in primary and secondary schools in Urumqi according to the standards for field provision.(2)The focus of funding dedicated to sports venues and equipment and sports work in primary and secondary schools in Urumqi should be consistent;increase the investment in sports funding,increase the recruitment of physical education teachers and improve the quality of teaching in all programmes.(3)The types of schools whose efficiency results are not DEA effective need to promptly adjust their input and output structures in the light of the actual situation of primary and secondary schools in Urumqi itself,so as to maximise the efficiency of their actual situation.(4)Reasonable use of funds for sports field equipment,improvement of the sports field equipment management system,and timely adjustment of the redundant values of inputs and insufficient values of outputs derived from the field construction efficiency,taking into account the actual situation of Urumqi primary and secondary schools themselves,with a view to achieving the optimal values of the actual situation.
