Since the 18th Party Congress,China has entered a new era and role model education still plays an important role.In high school ideology and politics classes,teachers choose positive role models that meet the requirements of the new era.On the one hand,this greatly improves the teaching effect of ideology and politics classes,cultivates good subject core literacy in high school students and enriches their spiritual world;on the other hand,by vigorously promoting outstanding contributions,excellent qualities and exemplary behaviour,it stimulates students' inner sense of identity and enables them to actively put the spirit of role models into practice On the other hand,by vigorously promoting outstanding contributions,excellent qualities and exemplary behaviour,students are inspired to identify with them and can actively put the spirit of role models into practice.However,with the development of the times and the increasing frequency of foreign exchanges,the values of high school students have been affected by the impact of multi-culturalism,which makes some high school students doubt the role models,so that the effect of role model education is affected to a certain extent.This paper studies the new era as a background,takes high school ideology and politics class as a carrier,addresses the current problems of role model education in high school ideology and politics class,and puts forward the corresponding solution measures.Based on the knowledge of pedagogy and psychology and the theoretical basis of domestic and foreign scholars' thinking about role model education,this study summarizes the distinctive features embedded in role model education and condenses the importance of carrying out role model education in high school ideology and politics classes in the new era.The research methods such as literature research method,questionnaire survey method,interview method,and case study method were used to investigate and analyze the situation of role model education in three high schools in area B.It was suggested that there are generalized teaching materials used for role model education,vague teaching objectives set for role model education,loose relationship between role model education and political identity literacy,poor integration of role model selection with students' actual life,and lack of post-class improvement reflection on role model education in high school Civics.The problems of role model education are fivefold.The main reasons for the above problems include teachers' poor understanding of the characteristics of role models,neglect of the educational requirements of role model education in the new curriculum,insufficient integration of theory and practice in role model education,lack of "authenticity" of role model characters,and formal role model education.Combined with the relevant requirements in the "General High School Ideology and Politics Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition 2020 Revision)",we propose strategies to solve the existing problems.Firstly,the principles for selecting role models in high school ideology and politics classes should be clarified: topicality,liveliness and diversity.Secondly,we should deeply explore the characteristics of role models and accurately intervene in teaching;strengthen the fit between role model education and teaching objectives;promote political identity literacy and role model education in the same direction;enhance the "authenticity" of role models;and summarize the teaching effect of role model education in time.At the same time,this study takes the third box of the sixth lesson of Compulsory 4 "Philosophy and Culture","Creation and Realization of Value",as an example,and conducts a specific case study to verify the importance of role model education in high school ideology and politics classes.
