With the rise of science fiction industry,science fiction education in China has developed gradually.As an interdisciplinary and comprehensive teaching resource,science fiction plays a key role in the cultivation of teenagers in many aspects.Science fiction education can also have a great impact on fostering creativity,which is currently receiving increasing international attention.Based on this,the purpose of this paper is to explore the influence of biology theme teaching based on science fiction movies on high school students’ creativity,and explore how to better implement science fiction teaching through practice.This paper surveyed the research literature and summarizes the major developments in this active research field,focusing on science fiction education and creativity.This paper performed a survey study and a quasi-experimental study to investigate the impact of science fiction education on creativity.This study influenced students through elective courses Anatomy of Science Fiction Films from a Biological Perspective.To understand the changes in high school students’ creativity tendency,this study have tested it for 40 high school students who take elective courses by Williams’ s Creativity Tendency Scale,and assessed the creativity of their micro-science-fictions.The results indicate that :(i)The biology theme teaching based on science fiction films through the form of elective courses had significant effect on high school students’ creativity tendency,especially the imagination and challenges of creative thinking.(ii)After the biology theme teaching based on science fiction films,the average score of science fiction micro theory creativity after the special teaching is higher than that before the special teaching.The experimental effect of flexibility was larger than that of fluency and originality.(iii)Students had a high evaluation of this course.The results showed that the main reasons for students’ favorite courses include content design and teaching.Students expected to add 22 teaching topics,including natural disasters,environmental protection,brain science and so on.They also expected to spend more time watching movies and less time writing in class.Based on the practice and students’ feedback on the course,there are four suggestions for teaching as follows.(i)Focus as much as possible on a single topic that is relevant to current events or interesting to students and of research significance.The selection of science fiction films should be considered from four aspects:scientific literacy,imagination,critical thinking and artistry.(ii)The film appreciation should be combined with a science fiction film worksheet that students are required to fill out.It is suggested that only the main plot should be shown in class.(iii)Teachers should try their best to broaden their knowledge when preparing lessons,especially when they are familiar with topics such as The Three-Body.At the same time,teachers should also explain the prototype of science fiction works in life in class.(iv)The number of creative works should be appropriate,otherwise it is easy to cause negative emotions of students.The creative forms can be varied,such as micro theory,model design,micro film and other forms.
