There are many complex knowledge points in middle school biology,and the connection between the junior and senior middle school stages of basic biology education is not close,which makes it difficult for students to learn the concepts of biology.Learning progression refers to the learning path that students follow when learning the same concepts in different learning stages.Therefore,studying advanced learning theory and analyzing students’ cognitive development laws will help learners form a coherent and progressive knowledge system.The junior high school curriculum standard puts forward the importance of learning important concepts in biology teaching,and the high school curriculum standard puts forward one of the basic concepts "content focus on big concepts".The core concept is an important part of the biological system,and its construction needs the support of its subordinate concepts,i.e.,the important concepts.The present article constructed an advanced study of the four important concepts under the theme of "basic structure of cells".Analyzed the textbooks,curriculum standards,test papers and other materials of junior and senior high schools,combined with domestic and foreign literature retrieval and combing,and summarize 4 important concepts of the theme of "basic structure of cells" :(1)The cell membrane is the boundary of the system,which can separate the inside of the cell from the external environment,control the entry and exit of substances and participate in the exchange of information between cells;(2)There are a variety of organelles in the cell,which jointly perform various life activities of the cell;(3)The nucleus is the genetic information library and the control center of cell metabolism and genetics;(4)The cell has unity and diversity.Put forward the hypothesis of the learning level of 4important concepts.The hypothesis positions the final level of the first grade students as the initial level of the high school students.The middle school and high school test questions are prepared for the 6 students and the first grade students of a junior middle school in Changsha.Four students in the first grade of a senior middle school in Changsha took the test.Use SPSS statistical software to calculate the correct rate and concentration of each question in the test,determine the two-dimensional answer type,verify the preset learning advancement and further modify and adjust,and finally get the learning progress of the important concepts under this research topic It also draws a diagram of the learning progress of 4 important concepts,and take Important Concept 3 as an example for teaching design,trying to provide reference for frontline teachers.
