With China's social transformation and population mobility, more and more grandparents are taking part or all of the responsibility for the upbringing and education of their grandchildren.Although intergenerational upbringing lightens the burden of the fathers and promotes the communication and interaction between family members,it also changes the original family structure, mismatches the role of the family, and leads to a series of family problems and even conflicts. In the intergenerational rearing family, the relationship between grandparents and grandchildren is the core of the family, which has a profound impact on family members and family relations,so it is necessary to study it.Based on family system theory and cognitive behavior theory, this paper uses case study method to explore the mediation process of social work on the relationship between grandparents and grandchildren in the intergenerational family. The author selects three typical cases in W community of X city, and through the investigation and analysis of the intervention process, the following research results are obtained: the advantages and disadvantages of intergenerational parenting are relative and can be converted to each other; The relationship between grandparents and grandchildren has different problems in different types of intergenerational rearing families, including estrangement, conflict and estrangement.Intergenerational rearing family types, family relations, demographic factors of grandparents and grandchildren and social environment all affect the relationship between grandparents and grandchildren to some extent.Social workers can improve the relationship between grandparents and grandchildren to some extent by changing the wrong cognition of family members, increasing the frequency of interaction between grandparents and grandchildren, enhancing emotional communication, and building external support networks,so as to promote family harmony.
