Since the late 1980 s,more and more researchers have begun to pay attention to the theory of mindset.According to the PISA 2018,"growth mindset" is vital to enhance students' learning motivation,self-efficacy,anti-frustration ability, learning goal and school belonging. In order to promote the activity of secondary vocational students and stimulate their potential, this paper conducts an empirical study on the secondary vocational school students' developing situation and cultivating path of the growth mindset. This study firstly expounds the reason and significance of the topic selection, explains the core concept and foundation of growth mindset, and states the research situation, trend and gap of growth mindset at home and abroad through literature analysis. Then the author has compiled the questionnaire to measure the growth mindset level of secondary vocational school students. In the stage of predictive questionnaire survey,160 questionnaires were distributed.Through the project analysis and the reliability(validity)analysis of 150 effective questionnaires by SPSS,it has been found that the questionnaire met the requirements of the basic research, which was suitable for exploratory factor analysis.A total of 650 questionnaires were distributed in the formal questionnaire survey.570 were effective and the effective recovery rate was 87.69%.After that, the data were entered into the SPSS for reliability and validity detection and descriptive statistical analysis. At the same time,it has adopted interview as an auxiliary research method to know the present situation and existing shortcomings of the development of growth mindset in secondary vocational school, which provides a realistic basis for the later study. It has been found that the average of secondary vocational school students' growth mindset development level in the "intelligence" dimension is highest while in the "frustration " dimension is lowest. And the overall average is 2.755,which is in the middle level. There is a significant relationship between gender, grade, major, academic achievement, training grade and secondary vocational school students' growth mindset development level in some dimensions. For example, boys' growth mindset development level is lower than girls' in the dimension of "intelligence" and "others' criticism".The growth mindset development level of students who are with the ranking of 30-40 in class is lower than the students with other rankings in the dimension of "intelligence","efforts" and "others' criticism".In addition, the study also has found that there are exciting two main shortcomings about the cultivation of secondary vocational students' growth mindset because it is really a kind of modern theory. One is that teachers and students from secondary vocational schools are lack of understanding of the connotation of growth mindset. The other one is that students from secondary vocational schools are lack of the educational environment to cultivate growth mindset. Finally,in order to cultivate the growth mindset of secondary vocational students, this paper proposes that we should help students understand the significance of growth mindset for personal development, encourage teachers to use growth mindset in teaching, guide secondary vocational schools to set up school-based curriculum of growth mindset, build growth mindset campus culture, build growth mindset educational team, and create a cultivating environment jointly by family, school, and enterprises. At the same time, this paper tests the cultivation path of "setting up school-based curriculum of growth mindset ",and reflects on the shortcomings of this study as well as expresses the prospect of future research.
