This paper explores the teaching of reading the whole book of "Rural China" in high school Chinese,cultivates the students' literacy in an all-round way from the aspects of language,thinking,culture and aesthetics,studies how to implement the whole book reading activities related to "Rural China",and reflects on the reading activities and puts forward some suggestions.This research is mainly divided into seven parts.The first part is the introduction,which mainly introduces the research background,research significance,research content and research methods.The second part is related concepts and literature review,mainly expounding some concepts involved in this study(Chinese discipline core literacy and the whole book reading),theoretical basis(constructivism theory and cognitive structure theory)and the research status of the whole book reading.The third part mainly discusses the necessity and teaching value of carrying out the whole book reading activity;The fourth part mainly designs the specific details of the reading activities of the whole book,including the basis of bibliography selection,reading planning,activity design and evaluation,etc.The fifth part is to show the specific implementation of the whole book reading activities through batch reading display,mind mapping and reading report.The sixth part mainly reflects on the problems in the whole book reading activity and puts forward corresponding suggestions.The seventh part is the conclusion part,which mainly summarizes the research results.Through the exploration of the whole book reading activity of "Rural China" and the implementation of the activity,the author summed up the universal implementation plan that can reflect the core Chinese literacy.In the process of the activity,there are also some problems: high school students need to improve their reading speed and comprehension ability;High school students are poor at writing and lazy in thinking;Teachers lack of guidance and evaluation is more one-sided.Through the reflection of the problems in the reading activity of the whole book,we also put forward corresponding suggestions for the implementation of the activity: create a reading atmosphere in the process of the whole book activity to promote the teaching efficiency;Innovate teaching methods and optimize reading strategies;Stimulate reading interest,mobilize internal motivation;Change the evaluation method,improve the depth of reading;Absorb experience and combine individual and group reading.The teacher should choose the reading list,set up the main question,make good use of relevant materials,and encourage students to take good reading notes.In this way,the effect of the whole book reading activity can be guaranteed.
