The Translation Of Chinese Textbooks For Thai Primary Schools

Kaikai Chinese is a commonly used textbook for primary school Chinese education in Thailand.Compared with other similar textbooks,Kaikai Chinese is jointly written by people with rich experience in Chinese teaching in Thailand.The Thai interpretation is in line with the expression habits of local people in Thailand,so it is widely used in Chinese teaching in Thailand.Due to the differences between Chinese and Thai languages and cultures,it is inevitable that there are some problems in teaching materials,especially in translation.The paper chose the open Chinese the first six books,through the collection and sorting of textbook of translation corpora found that "on" open Chinese new words translation problems exist in the form of the translation including Thai and Chinese comments not unified,and Thai,the semantics of the same does not form,both written and spoken mixed annotation,and not quite of semantic meanings,including basic meanings are not quite,Emotional color is not equivalent,cultural meaning is not equivalent.In addition,the meanings of Chinese and Thai words are not corresponding,the Thai semantic items are more than the Chinese meaning items and the Thai semantic items are less than the Chinese meaning items.The main problems of phrase translation are the semantic inaccuracy caused by literal translation and the loss of cultural meaning.There are three types of sentence translation problems.The first type is the semantic asymmetry of the translated sentence,the second type is the loss of semantic color of the translated sentence,including cultural meaning and emotional color,and the third type is the syntactic translation error which does not accurately distinguish the part of speech of words.On the one hand,the difference between Chinese and Thai languages leads to the negative transfer of mother tongue;on the other hand,the cultural difference between China and Thailand causes such translation problems.In view of the above problems in Kaikai Chinese,this paper puts forward corresponding solutions from the perspectives of new words and sentences.In word translation,attention should be paid to the correspondence of basic meanings,emotional colors and cultural meanings,as well as to the enrichment of translation forms,such as the use of notes.Sentence translation pays attention to the combination of literal translation and free translation,and makes full use of pictures,tables and other AIDS to illustrate the meaning of the sentence.The purpose of this paper is to analyze the possible causes of translation errors by combing the corpus,so as to provide some feasible suggestions for the re-editing of the textbook.
