Since Selinker put forward the concept of interlanguage, the fossilization was reminded as well. In the process of learning the second language, a stubborn error come out by the influence of other issues—fossilization. About this project, many domestic scholars just stopped at the theory layer, there are not too many empirical studies about it, especially the study direct at tone fossilization phenomenon during the process of learning the second language.This issue takes South Korean’s elementary school students’ Chinese tone fossilization during the Chinese learning period as a primary aspect. Therefore this thesis choose some students as the object, analyze the phenomenon of fossilization about Chinese tone during the classroom learning, and then the paper illuminates the reason in the point of internal cause and external cause. Finally, some recommendation will be put out for far teaching Chinese as a foreign language field.The introduction and other five chapters constitute this paper:The introduction part presents the reason to write this paper and the purpose of the thesis. And then the paper makes it clear that the research status of fossilization during the second language learning process and the main research technique.Chapter I describe the general features of Chinese tone fossilization during the course of South Korean primary students’Chinese learning, based on the observation of the elementary school where the writer taught Chinese. First, according to Spelunker’s concerned comment, the paper classifies such fossilization phenomenon. Then, the paper illustrates the trait of universality and regularity about such fossilization phenomenon with some examples.Chapter II not only expounds the issues about this survey’s object and goal, the method and the content, the stages and how to implement such survey but also focuses on the South Korean pupils bias and even fossilized tone type induction. Notation key signature issue has been described as well.Chapter III based on survey data, analyzes the South Korea pupils’tone deviance and fossilization phenomenon in detail. First of all, based on the data, it is analyzed that different types of errors and fossilization phenomenon in different stages about monosyllables tone were reflected. Followed by the two-syllable words Tone Deviance and type of fossilization analyzed in this section. The author combines level tone, rising tone, falling-rising tone and falling tone with level tone, rising tone, falling-rising tone and falling tone respectively, so that various complex situations of South Korean students ’tone errors will be included, as well as the emphasizing on fossilization.Chapter four analyzes the causes of fossilization phenomenon in internal and external level. After taking comprehensive interpretation of the scholars about fossilization and thinking of thereality for teaching South Korean students tones, this paper considers the internal reasons are-the effect of age factors, learning strategies, emotional factors and Language Transfer; the external reasons are—the impact of locale, the influence of teachers as well as the textbook factors.The fifth chapter is about some associated thoughts and suggestions. The recommendations are from following aspects:the arrangement of curriculum, the allocation of teaching span, the emphasis point of tone and the order of presentation, the skills and coaching strategies of teachers as well as the employing of teaching methods.
