Mathematical literacy is one of the core literacy of the subject given by the2017 general high school mathematics curriculum standards.Mathematical operation ability is the core ability cultivated in mathematics education,and it is the common concern of mathematics education researchers and practitioners to implement mathematics operation literacy in teaching.Through literature research,the core concepts are defined and the theoretical basis of the research is determined,investigate the problems existing in the development of students’ mathematical operation literacy and analyze the causes.Taking the content of function theme as an example,the teaching process is designed based on the cultivation of students’ mathematical operation literacy,and the teaching practice is completed to obtain the teaching strategies to improve the mathematical operation literacy.The research shows that the overall level of mathematics operation literacy of high school students is not high.Most students can achieve Level 1 knowledge understanding,Level 2 knowledge transfer needs to be improved,and fewer students reach Level 3 knowledge innovation.There is no significant difference in the overall development of mathematics literacy between boys and girls,but boys are better than girls in knowledge innovation.The problems existing in the development of high school students’ mathematical operation literacy are as follows: unclear concept,wrong understanding of operational objects;the basic knowledge is weak,and the negative transfer of the algorithm appears;fuzzy and insufficiently rigorous computing ideas;ignoring the details of the calculations leading to errors in the results of the calculations;irregular writing of the calculation steps.The reasons for the problems in the development of high school students’ mathematical operation literacy are as follows: from the perspective of teachers,the research of the 2017 edition of the curriculum standard and the 2019 edition of the textbook is not deep enough and the understanding is not comprehensive enough;teachers do not pay enough attention to mathematical operation,lack of demonstration and guidance of operation.From the perspective of students themselves,students’ interest in mathematics learning is low,lack of enthusiasm in mathematics operation;students’ bad habit of mathematical operation;the basic knowledge of students is relatively weak;students are not good at summarizing and reflecting on mathematical operations.According to the research of teaching practice effect,Strategies to improve mathematics literacy in high school mathematics teaching include: paying attention to the mathematical situation and understanding the operational objects;consolidating the knowledge base and mastering the algorithm;stimulating students’ interest and emphasizing the reflection on the operation;selecting intensive examples and exercises to strengthen the operation demonstration;using information technology to optimize the operation teaching;rational use of resources and setting up school-based courses.
