In today's society,mathematics has been widely used,but a large number of studies have shown that high school students have low mathematics application ability,which has to reform the current high school mathematics education.Therefore,in 2017,the Ministry of Education of China promulgated the "General High School Mathematics Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition)",which officially included mathematical modeling as the core literacy of mathematics in the curriculum standards,indicating that mathematical modeling is an important content in the high school curriculum.Based on these backgrounds,using the literature research method,the test paper method and the questionnaire survey method,the following four questions are specifically studied:Question 1: What is the status quo of the mathematical modeling ability of high school students?Question 2: What is the use of case teaching in high school mathematics teaching?Question 3: What are the elements of mathematical modeling cases?Question 4: What are the teaching strategies for using case teaching?The main conclusions of the study are:1.The status quo of the mathematical modeling ability of high school studentsAt present,the overall mathematical modeling ability of high school students is relatively low,and most of the students are at the stage of mathematical modeling ability level one;there is no significant difference between the mathematical modeling ability level of high school students and high school students;There is no significant difference between the level of mathematical modeling ability of students in key classes.2.Status quo of Case TeachingMost mathematics teachers understand case teaching,but use it less frequently in the daily teaching of high school mathematics.When doing mathematical modeling,most teachers choose case teaching.It shows that most teachers recognize the role of case teaching in mathematical modeling teaching.3.Elements of a mathematical modeling caseThree mathematical modeling cases are explored from five aspects:situation and problem,knowledge and skills,thinking and expression,communication and reflection,and expansion.4.Case teaching strategy research(1)Select mathematical modeling cases;(2)Prepare for case discussion;(3)Enrich the presentation methods of cases;(4)Strengthen communication and reflection in the process of case teaching;(5)Flipped classroom teaching mode into cases teaching.
