In the information era,effective and efficient communication and expression ability is very important.In mathematics education,we should also pay attention to the education of communication and expression.The American Association of Teachers of Mathematics(NCTM)put forward in the School Mathematics Evaluation Standard that mathematics education should cultivate students’ seven qualities.Mathematical communication ability can be improved through mathematical writing.Since the curriculum reform,mathematics education has put forward requirements for students’ expression ability.In high school,mathematics education should teach students to express the world in mathematical language,mathematics education in junior middle schools should help students learn to cooperate and communicate.Based on this background,this paper puts forward the research topic of integrating mathematical writing into mathematics teaching.This study focuses on the following three issues(1)Which aspects of junior high school mathematics teaching can be integrated with mathematics writing?(2)How to develop and design junior high school students’ mathematics writing tasks?(3)How to implement the teaching practice of junior high school students’ mathematical writing?This paper studies the related literature of mathematical writing,collects data,and designs the research tools based on it,such as questionnaire,evaluation criteria of mathematical writing.After that,a questionnaire survey was conducted among the ninth grade students in Shanghai yn middle school to understand their cognition,emotion and use of mathematical writing.At the end of the survey,we designed and developed specific mathematical writing tasks based on the results of the survey.Then the teaching experiment is carried out to put the writing task into practice.Finally,through the combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis methods,the teaching practice results are obtained,and the research conclusions are as follows:(1)This research finally determines to integrate with mathematics writing from the four aspects,problem-solving writing,preview before class,learning summary and reflection,and open topic exploration.(2)This research developed and designed the writing task of mathematics writing,students’ Preview writing before class,the writing task of topic error analysis,the writing task of topic arrangement and summary,and the writing task of theme opening and inquiry.(3)In order to implement the teaching practice,this paper studies and formulates the evaluation methods and standards of mathematical writing,determines the students’ feedback on mathematical writing,and raises the teaching suggestions for the implementation of mathematical writing.
