After undertaking one year of chemistry teaching work in junior high school,the author entered the department of chemistry teaching in senior high school.It is found in work that the adaptability of high school students to chemistry learning is far less than that of middle school students: they do not know how to think,are unwilling to express ideas,and students communicate less with each other.Moreover,the psychological and physical characteristics of students at this stage lead to the teaching classroom is "silent",and teachers cannot receive accurate information feedback and timely adjust their teaching ideas and teaching strategies.It is imperative to find a new teaching method or teaching mode to change the current dull and inefficient teaching situation.In addition,both the national education development plan and the curriculum reform of basic education have repeatedly emphasized: we must focus on stimulating students' interest in learning,gradually cultivate students' logical thinking ability and dialectical thinking ability,and strengthen the cultivation of students' scientific quality and innovative ability.The concept of core literacy also requires students to learn to learn,learn to do things,learn to get along with others,learn to develop and learn to change.In short,it is required that school teaching should take students as the main body and cultivate students' comprehensive ability.PBL(Problem-based Learning)teaching mode emphasizes active Learning,exploratory Learning and collaborative Learning,and highlights the teaching concept of "student-centered" through the practical process of "context creation-problem-driven-teamwork-evaluation and reflection".Existing studies show that the "teacher-student and student-student" communication platform based on the PBL teaching mode can effectively promote classroom teaching and improve students' comprehensive quality.Therefore,PBL teaching mode can be used as an option to solve the problems in the author's current teaching work.However,at present,the practical research of PBL mode in teaching is still not comprehensive enough,and the teaching cases for reference are not targeted enough.On the basis of reading and analyzing a large amount of literature research,combined with the actual situation of the students taught by the author,this paper explores the application of PBL mode in chemistry teaching in senior high school.This paper two classes of the same overall level in the first grade of 2021 in a middle school in Urumqi as the research object,one of which is used as the experimental class and the other is used as the control class.Before the experiment,I developed a deep understanding of the connotation of PBL teaching mode,and took the placement test results as the pre-test results.During the experiment,the teaching cases of PBL mode were designed according to the teaching situation and learning situation,and the teaching practice based on PBL mode was carried out in the experimental class,while the control class only used conventional method for teaching.In the later stage of the experiment,the scores of multiple chemistry exams of the two classes were compared,and questionnaire and interviews were conducted among the students of the experimental class,so as to understand the students' feelings and experience of PBL teaching mode.The experimental results show that:(1)PBL teaching mode can stimulate students' interest in learning chemistry,strengthen students' self-learning awareness,improve learning efficiency in classroom,and thus help students improve their grades;(2)All the students' classroom performance,questionnaire and interview responses show that PBL teaching mode is of great help to improve students' comprehensive quality;(3)PBL teaching mode can help teachers and students make progress together;(4)The PBL teaching mode is more suitable for the teaching of chemistry fact-based content and chemistry experimental content,while it is more difficult to be implemented for the teaching of theoretical concepts.However,as long as the theoretical conceptual content to be carefully designed and polished,the PBL teachingmode can still be well applied,and the results are good.The result of this research aims to provide more scientific method for imparting and accepting knowledge,and hope that it can be extended to chemistry teaching in other grades and practical teaching of other subjects.
