As a senior applied talent in the field of Library and information,MLIS has a vital influence on the development of the cause of Library and information.Last several years,many universities in China have implemented the policy of expanding enrollment for professional masters,and the number of the training units of MLIS are increasing year by year.In the future,more MLIS will move to the society and win their own place in the society.Therefore,it is significant to consider the MLIS.This paper studies the relevant literature from two fields: MLIS and professional competence.It is found that there are few existing literature related to the evaluation of the professional competence of the MLIS,and also lack of relevant evaluation system,evaluation model and empirical verification.Therefore,on the basis of the competence theory and the characteristics and current situation of the MLIS,this paper designed a professional competence evaluation index system for the MLIS,which includes 6 secondary indexes and 34 tertiary indexes.Using fuzzy analytic hierarchy process,determined the index weight,and established an evaluation model for the professional competence of the MLIS.After that,the graduates of MLIS of H University were selected as the evaluation object and evaluated to verify the feasibility of the evaluation model.Finally,according to the comprehensive evaluation results,we can understand the current situation of the University’s Library and information masters who have been engaged in the field of Library and information,found their problems,and provide some suggestions.This research is not only conducive to the future career development of the MLIS,but also can provide reference for relevant units to select and consider outstanding talents. |
