Both Korea and China belong to the circle of Chinese Characters.To a certain extent,the two cultures share some connections with each other.Chinese courses have been included into the curriculum of most Korean schools,where there exist many problems.Despite the fact that it has seen an increase in the study of similar-spelling Chinese characters,there could find just a few related researches against the backdrop of a specific country,especially when it comes to how it works when Korean students try to acquire similar-spelling Chinese characters.The paper mainly discusses about mistakes that students may make when writing similar-spelling Chinese characters,by studying students in North Gwangmyeong Middle School in Korea.The paper consists of six chapters,the first chapter introduces the subject of research and its significance,means of research and innovations.The second chapter sifts through studies about similar-spelling Chinese characters.The third chapter,with the study design,surveys mistakes students are likely to make,through the angle of the teaching status in the school,its language sources,questionnaire design(to send questionnaires to students to gain how they study similar-spelling Chinese characters),interview design(to dive into questions in the questionnaire through interviews,which also involves interviews to teachers to understand problems in their teaching methods and textbooks),and test paper design(including choosing part of the students to participate in the writing of similar-spelling Chinese characters,aiming to gather as much research materials as possible).The fourth chapter analyzes the data collected from the previous efforts and reports on some reasons that cause the students to make mistakes.The fifth chapter puts forward suggested teaching strategies to cope with difficulties presented in Chapter Four.The sixth chapter comes in as a summary of the paper,where it analyses the paper's limits and to propose some suggestions and expectations.The paper expects to offer some help in the teaching of similar-spelling Chinese characters,and to diversify the circle of Chinese characters when a textbook of Chinese characters is composed.
