"Difficult Chinese characters" is a common problem reflected by foreign students,especially those from non-Chinese cultural circles.From the writing data of foreign students,it is found that Chinese character writing bias is a common problem,and it is necessary to study the writing errors of foreign students carefully.This paper selects the American students in two classes of middle and higher levels to analyze the errors,and gives out the Chinese character learning questionnaire to understand the situation of foreign students learning Chinese characters from(on)the other side.By integrating the two aspects of the investigation,this paper attempts to find out the causes of errors in writing Chinese characters by foreign students at this stage,to explore ways to reduce the errors in writing,and to put forward some suggestions for reference in the teaching of Chinese characters in foreign countries.After sorting out and analyzing the error(errors)and the questionnaire,we find that the ratio of the number of wrong characters to other characters is about 2: 1,and the stroke problem and the part replacement problem are the most common errors in the students’ errors.The most common mistake in other words is the same or close pronunciation and the same or similar sound and shape.Combined with the results of the questionnaire,we find that there are subjective and objective reasons for the errors in the writing of Chinese characters of American students at the middle and advanced stage.Objective reasons include:Chinese characters themselves,teachers and their problems in teaching,teaching materials and practice after class,subjective reasons include:Learning motivation,learning interest,learning strategy,stroke basic skills are not solid,parts are not in place,voice accuracy is not enough.Based on the previous research,the collected error data and the analysis results,the author puts forward some relevant teaching suggestions.It includes setting up the correct view of Chinese characters,retaining the training of writing Chinese characters,strengthening the teaching of components,attaching importance to the guidance of learners’ learning strategies and methods of Chinese characters,and giving full play to the role of teachers.On the basis of this,it makes a prospect to the teaching and research(researching)of Chinese characters.In order to get rid of the inherent cognition of "Chinese characters difficult" in students’ hearts,more researchers and practitioners of Chinese language teaching are needed through research and practice.More research results will be applied to the actual teaching to overcome the problem of Chinese character teaching.
