Homework is a bilateral teaching activity between teachers and students,a touchstone for teachers’ teaching effect and students’ learning quality,and a link between teachers and students.Homework design is an integral part of instructional design,and optimizing homework design is a basic and necessary task for implementing the policy of reducing burden."Learning without thinking is ambiguous,thinking without learning is lost." After-class homework is an important way for students to realize from learning to thinking,which plays an important role in teaching,but the existing homework has problems such as content curing,single form and rigid evaluation,which is very detrimental to the overall development of students and has a negative impact on the development of students’ core literacy.There are still many problems in homework design that need to be solved urgently.In the context of the burden reduction proposed by the Ministry of Education,homework design problems are even more urgent.This article explores this issue.This paper explores the design strategies of junior high school biology homework in the context of burden reduction through literature,survey and observation methods.First,the relevant literature is consulted to lay the theoretical foundation for the design of junior high school biology homework assignments;second,a questionnaire survey is conducted for biology teachers and students of Zhengzhou A Middle School and other school biology teachers to understand the current status of homework in middle school biology,and randomly observes the design,layout and evaluation of homework in Zhengzhou A Middle School,and conducts empirical testing on the results of the questionnaire survey;again,analyzes and discusses the existing homework situation,put forward the optimization suggestions;finally,put forward the optimization strategies for the problems that should be improved in the current operation design shown in the survey.That is to analyze the questionnaire survey data,summarize the existing problems of homework assignments,consider the current situation of homework,propose the optimization proposals at the national level,school level and individual level: set up homework training courses,carry out homework design competitions,develop homework evaluation standards,and establish homework communication platforms;conduct collective design homework activities,require writing homework design cases,organize homework design competitions,develop homework design rewards and penalties,etc.,and elaborate detailed homework optimization strategies for existing problems: first,the basis of the homework design;the second,the principles of homework design;the third,the types of homework design;the fourth,the evaluation of the homework design.In this study,students from Zhengzhou A Middle School and 74 junior high school biology teachers including Zhengzhou A Middle School are used as research objects.Questionnaires surveys and field observations,etc.are used to analyze the substantive problems arising from homework,and the factors that run counter to the "reduced burden",combining with the educational theory,the response to the questionnaire survey data and observations on the practice school,put forward the strategies of optimizing after-school homework such as homework design basis,homework design principle,homework design types and homework design evaluations,etc.Implementing the policy of reducing the burden,and meanwhile,improving the professional quality of teachers and the comprehensive quality of students,which will provide a reference for future research on the design of homework in the context of reducing the burden.
