The role of grammar fluctuates in middle school Chinese teaching,which shows that people's understanding and response to nature of Chinese subjects are changing in general.It is an accepted conclusion in the educational field that instrumentality and humanity are the two basic characteristics of Chinese subject.However,it is still a hot topic to discuss whether humanity should be given priority to knowledge in the process of Chinese teaching.The result of the discussion will directly affect the fate of grammar in Chinese teaching.Humanity makes students experience the thoughts and feelings of the article,while instrumentality enables students to focus on the language itself.The former ignores grammar education while the latter attaches great importance to it.After the curriculum reform,Chinese teaching has shifted from teacher-centered to student-centered,requiring teachers to give lectures with Chinese flavor in order to improve students' the thought morals tutelage and aesthetic taste,and advocating that Chinese teaching should pay attention to humanity,which will undoubtedly lead to the lack of grammar education in middle school Chinese teaching.Practice has proved that grammar is very necessary in middle school Chinese teaching.Although it is clearly stipulated in " Full-time compulsory education Chinese curriculum standards " that grammar is not the exam content,the connection of junior high school and senior high school knowledge as well as the senior high school entrance examination and college entrance examination all require students to master certain grammar knowledge.For example,the study of classical Chinese,the study of sick sentences,the study of related words,which directly or indirectly examine the grammar knowledge.In addition,grammar learning helps to cultivate the students' language sense,improving students' abstract thinking ability.To be specific,the grammar teaching lays a foundation for cultivating students' good reading.Students have a certain grammar knowledge can deepen their understanding of sentences,so as to grasp the full text more easily.Grammar teaching can regulate students' language and allows them to express ideas clearly.Grammar teaching can improve students' logical thinking,and then improve their writing skills.At the same time,grammar teaching can help students understand grammatical phenomena in classical Chinese such as inversion and active use of parts of speech.All of the above points illustrate the importance of grammar teaching in middle school Chineseteaching.It is very necessary for grammar teaching to enter into Chinese classroom,which can be seen from the change in the position of grammar knowledge in the textbooks.In essence,the recognition of the importance of grammar is to attach importance to language learning and the instrumentality of Chinese.However,we should pay attention to the fact that subject instrumentality has no conflict with humanity.We should learn the lesson that grammar teaching was diluted in the 1990 s.To master the language better is the purpose of learning grammar,so as to improve the students' ability of using the language and improve their Chinese literacy.Chinese class is not a literature class,nor a grammar class.Grammar teaching and Chinese teaching are not isolated concerns.In order to keep the position of grammar in middle school Chinese teaching,we must innovate in teaching philosophy and teaching methods.Grammar teaching needs to keep pace with the times.It is necessary to understand grammar from the perspective of development,to face new things with an inclusive attitude,and to look at new language phenomena dialectically.Only in this way can grammar maintain its vitality and have a place in middle school Chinese teaching.
