Group Work Intervening In The Study Of Social Support For Lonely Elderly People

Due to group characteristics and lack of support from family core and peer groups,and the elderly care system is relatively closed,resulting in the lack of social support and the inability to provide for the elderly in a healthy way,which has gradually become an important and difficult group in need of care and help.In this paper,the research on social support for lonely elderly people aims to help them rebuild social support and improve the quality of life in their later years,so as to achieve the goal of healthy endowment.Taking the social support of lonely old people as the starting point,this group work investigated the social support status,existing problems and causes of the problems of lonely old people in rural areas by taking the practice site of R nursing center in wuhan city as an example.According to the research,there are problems such as lack of economic basis,insufficient care for daily life,neglect of spiritual needs and weak social support among the lonely elderly.Care center for R widowed old man problems existing in the social support,through team work method to step in and establish a mutual support group,let the team members help each other and grow,and through six group activities improve the lonely elders self-worth's state of mind,to solve the problems of social support,and help the lonely old man for finding a way to establish social support.Through the intervention effect of group work,the lonely elderly after the service have explored their own potential,realized their self-worth,improved their behavior,and been able to give play to their subjective initiative to solve the practical pension problem,which reflects the value concept of helping others to help themselves in social work.Finally,the paper summarizes the desirability and shortcomings of the group work in the social support for the lonely elderly,and provides a reference for the social services for the lonely elderly in the future.
