In our country,high school students are a very special group.High school freshmen are in a critical period of gradual transition from ignorance in early youth to mature personality.Various external factors are likely to affect all aspects of their body and mind.Freshmen’s adjustment in school directly affects their academic performance and future socialization,and has an important impact on their future development and the formation of healthy personality.If the school adjustment problems of freshmen are not alleviated and eliminated smoothly,this may have a lasting negative impact on their study and life throughout high school,and may even lead to emotional disorders,communication difficulties,decreased grades,and school weariness,Suspension and dropout.Therefore,good school adjustment can promote students’ mental health and form a healthy personality,which is also conducive to future career planning.Looking back at the previous literature,in recent years,although the research on the adaptation of freshmen in China has been more extensive and the results are more,the research object has been more concentrated on the college student group,and the research field has focused more on psychology and education.Research in the field.In addition,the research focuses on interpretation,analysis and attribution,and there are not too many intervention studies using action.Therefore,from the perspective of social work,this article attempts to explore practical solutions to the problem of adjustment for freshman high schools with the support of social work theories and methods.In this article,the author used unstructured interviews to interview ten high school freshmen,and learned that the current situation of high school freshmen’s adjustment problems is high academic pressure,poor independent living ability,poor interpersonal relationship adaptation,emotional adaptation,participation The activity is not active in five aspects,and analyzes the adjustment problems of freshman high school from the personal factors,school factors,family factors,and social factors.From the perspective of professional social work,this paper introduces the method of action research and uses the case work method to study the adjustment problem of freshman high school.Involve in a typical case,conduct reflection research in the practical process,and adjust the next intervention through reflection.Supported by Eriksson’s psycho-social development stage theory,social ecosystem theory,and rational emotional treatment model,helping clients solve the dilemma of school adjustment,enabling clients to adapt to academic pressure,interpersonal relationships,emotional adjustment,and activities Participation in five areas has grown and improved.The results of the study show that,compared with other intervention pathways,the use of casework methods to solve the problem of school adjustment for freshman students has a significant effect.The problem of maladjustment of the client’s school has been improved.From the early escape from school,emotional mania and anxiety,and closing himself,through nine cases of intervention,the client successfully returned to school and successfully adapted to school life.It shows that the client has a good self-care ability at the moment;successfully made new friends in the school;joined the school’s choir and maintained good relations with the students in the choir;served as a class cadre in the class and proactively assumed the responsibility of the class;The academic performance has been continuously improved,and good study habits have been established.The case work method takes the individual as the focus and service subject,and uses professional concepts and techniques to provide services to the client.Confidence in yourself.In view of the feasibility and effectiveness of the application of the case work method in this paper,this method can be adopted and implemented in the adaptation of new high school freshmen in the future.
