In the transition zone between the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the Hexi Corridor at the northern foot of the Qilian Mountains,the combination of farming and animal husbandry and the interaction of multiple ethnic groups have been going on for a long time.Therefore,the people in this area are diversified and mixed in both production and life and culture.Located at the northern foot of the Qilian Mountains,Mati Tibetan Town is a multi-ethnic mixed area inhabited by Han and Tibetan as the main body and a small amount of Yugur,Hui,Tu and Mongolian.Different ethnic groups live together in one place and interaction is inevitable,of course,in the process of all ethnic groups live in harmony and mutual unity is one of the important performance in the development of the region formed by people across the ethnic group's regional identity.The local people's regional identity and mutual recognition among different ethnic groups is a point of gaze is the local "Obo sacrifice"(Sacrifice to the mountain gods).Through field investigation,this paper makes an ethnographical study on the cultural activity of "Obo sacrifice"(Sacrifice to the mountain gods)in Mati Tibetan Township at the northern foot of the Qilian Mountains.In the early stage of the literature on the basis of collecting and combing through the visit a preliminary understanding of the population,ethnic land and the bayan obo ritual,personally involved in the local "Obo sacrifice" activities,with the help of the local further insight into the other aspects and conducted many in-depth interviews and meticulous observation,to the local ethnic interaction and regional identity did analysis.The first chapter introduces the human space and natural geography of the Mati Tibetan Township at the northern foot of Qilian Mountains.The second chapter sorts out the origin of the multi-ethnic groups in Mati Tibetan Township.After the introduction of the realistic situation in which they live together,communicate and blend,it is found that the identity of local people is not only a single ethnic identity,but more generally the expression of "we" recognized by multi-ethnic groups,which is their expression of regional identity.One of the local regional identity focuses on the local "Obo sacrifice",so the third chapter discusses the different origin of the Obo sacrifice,statistics the actual situation of the present Obo sacrifice,detailed description of the local three different forms of ritual activities,and analyzes the characteristics and functions of the activity.The fourth chapter analyzes the reasons why local people form regional identity and participate in this activity,including the deep influence of national policy,the efforts of local elites and the multiple functions of local people's social memory.The fifth chapter is the final summary t of this paper,analyzes the significance of the multi-ethnic cultural festival formed after the traditional Obo sacrificial ceremony was incorporated into the local cultural festival in Mati Tibetan Township for regional culture,ecology,multi-ethnic integration and the practice of the consciousness of Chinese national community.Summing up the path of multi-ethnic regional identity and combining with the internal relationship between regional identity and national identity,it shows that the regional identity after multi-ethnic integration is a miniature of the research on multi-ethnic national identity,which has its research value.
