Since the 21 st century, the relationship between Japan and India has been warming up,and India's position in Japan's foreign strategy has become more and more important.Japan and India have frequently exchanged visits between heads of state and issued a series of joint statements stressing the importance of strengthening Japan-India economic cooperation. The Abe administration has adopted a proactive economic cooperation policy with India in terms of increasing the amount of aid to India, promoting the implementation of bilateral infrastructure cooperation projects, expanding direct investment in India, encouraging Japanese enterprises to enter the Indian market and increasing the scale of bilateral trade. The second Abe administration will implement a more active and proactive economic policy towards India, change the previous situation of Japan's unilateral "aid" to India, and put more emphasis on "private enterprises" and " cooperation".On the one hand,it will relieve the economic pressure of the Japanese government, expand the overseas market of Japanese enterprises and stimulate the domestic economic recovery. On the other hand, with the help of economic cooperation, the two countries should strengthen political relations and military security and defense cooperation,so as to realize Japan's goal of enhancing regional dominance and political power.India hopes to carry out economic cooperation with Japan and use Japanese capital, advanced technology and various kinds of talents to promote domestic economic development and improve infrastructure. At the same time,it is conducive to India's implementation of the "Act East" and improves India's political status in the Asia-Pacific region. The deepening of Japan-India economic cooperation will further shorten the political relations and military cooperation between the two countries, which will make the development of China and the "One Belt And One Road" initiative face a more complex sea and land environment.
