| Since the 1970 s,biographical novels have become the focus of western social research,especially the construction of novel theory and the close reading of novel texts.Influenced by western society and Western culture,a large number of biographical novels have appeared in Russia.In recent years,with the increasingly frequent cultural exchanges between China and Russia,Russian biographical novels have attracted more and more Chinese readers.The biographical novel life and food was published in 2015.The author Ekaterina Rozhdestvenskaya is a photographer,former editor in chief of Seven Days magazine,journalist,fashion designer and translator of English and French literature.She has translated the works of Maugham,Steinbeck and other writers.In her article,Life and Food,she describes those unforgettable family anecdotes in her childhood,and presents her grandmother’s recipes,parents’ letters,travel stories and well-known guests to readers one by one in her gentle memories,so that readers can experience the warmth of the family in reading.At present,there is no translation of her novels in China.This paper is a translation practice report based on the translated text of Ekaterina Rozhdestvenskaya’s biographical novel.The report focuses on the introduction of the major content,the summarization of the translation skills used by the translator in the process of translation,and analyzation of specific examples taken from the translation.The translator hopes to master the characteristics of autobiographical novels and improve translation level through this translation practice. |
