| With the development of society,the interest in Russian literature is growing,and the dissemination and popularization of literary works are becoming an integral part of social life.This is why translation of literary texts is a very urgent issue.Reading Russian literature in translation not only helps Chinese people to understand the achievements of Russian development in various fields,but also opens a window for Chinese people to understand Russia.In this translation practice report,the author selects the first chapter(excerpt)of the novel "Paul Zhang and the Water Monster" by Russian writer Vera Bogdanova to start the translation,which is the beginning of a long novel,sets the story in a fictional science fiction era,introduces the origin of the main character Paul Zhang and a series of events he experiences in his work environment after he becomes an adult,and also uses many psychological descriptions to portray the complex characters.In the end,the flashback leads to a case that happened to Paul Chang in his childhood.At the same time,the work is based on daily life,and the core of the work is closely related to our concerns,showing readers a modern Russian science fiction work and expressing attitudes and thoughts about life,which also provides readers with references to experience life and find wisdom in life,and has certain practical significance.In the translation practice report,the author reproduces the translation process of this translation activity,using such translation methods as word increase,word decrease,split translation and combined translation.Through this translation practice activity,the author hopes to both improve the level of translating literary texts and to perceive the wisdom of life reflected in the works. |
