Charlotte Bront(?)’s creation was influenced by English literary tradition,European folk culture, the works of female writers in the 19 th century, the practice of painting art and her own life experience. She absorbs other people’s works through quotation, allusion, collage and parody, which is unique in her creation. It is a phenomenon worthy of attention in the study of intertextuality. From the perspective of intertextuality research, this paper selects Charlotte Bront(?)’s four novels to study, they are Teachers,Jane Eyre,Shelly and Villette. They all show the writer’s use of intertextuality in her creation, which is the proof of Charlotte Bront(?)’s extraordinary creative ability. At the same time, they reflect the deep concern for social politics, history, culture and women’s life. The first is to tease out the intertextual construction of the world of Charlotte Bront(?)’s novels. It is mainly reflected in three aspects: one is to show the self-text intertextuality of writers’ creations through the continuation of themes and the "reproduction" of character types;the other is to show the cross-text intertextuality of writers’ creations through the reference and absorption of British literary traditions, female writers’ creations and European cultural traditions.Among them,Charlotte Bront(?)’s works refers to the British drama tradition, poetry tradition and novel tradition in terms of expressing real life and inner feelings. The appeal of gender equality and the breakthrough of creative space in the novel are related to the creation of women writers from the 18 th century to the 19 th century. And the use of allusions to the Bible, myth and legend is related to the traditional European culture.Thirdly, the author’s intertextuality of "language and image" is demonstrated by associating the "icon" in characters, scenes and artistic conception with the " image" in artistic images. The second is to analyze the intertextuality strategies in the novels—quotation, allusion, collage and parody.Charlotte Bront(?)’s absorption of the other texts shows diversity. In can be roughly divided into two forms: one is intertextuality with obvious traces of intertextuality, such as direct quotation and collage of other texts; One is implicit intertextuality, such as the transformation of other texts, the imitation of character prototype and story structure. These intertextual traces show Charlotte Bront(?)’s broad reading range and superb creative skills, which constitute the intertextuality characteristics in Charlotte Bront(?)’s novels. Finally, excavate the constructive value of the study of the intertextuality of Charlotte Bront(?)’s novels.Intertextuality focuses on the process of text generation, which includes the writer’s reading process, the creative process, and the reader’s acceptance and criticism process. Therefore, when studying Charlotte Bront(?)’s novels from the perspective of intertextuality, the identification of intertextual traces in novels can help us sort out the reading history of writers, the exposition of intertextual strategies can help us clarify the dialogue between writers’ texts and the internal world and the external world, and the attention to the interdisciplinary level of intertextual forms can enlighten us to broaden the horizons of literary criticism,so that intertextual studies can provide value for constructing personal reading history, constructing the "polyphonic" textual world, and expanding the space for literary criticism interpretation.
