| Western China Elementary Chinese course,written by the missionary Gerald childe,was published in 1917.It is a dialect spoken language textbook for elementary Chinese learners.There are 1002 sentences and 32 texts in the book.The texts are presented in the form of dialogue.The subjects are all real scenes in daily life.The selection of language items and the compilation of teaching materials are very characteristic.This paper mainly uses the historical comparison method,the combination of description and interpretation to study the ontology of teaching materials and Chinese teaching,excavates the value of its ontology research,and explores its enlightenment to the compilation of teaching materials for Chinese as a foreign language through the research on its teaching.In the noumenon part,this paper studies the phonetics,dialect words and special grammatical phenomena of the textbook.By comparing with the phonetic system of Xishu dialect in the same period and the phonetic system of contemporary Chengdu dialect,it is found that the phonetic system of Western China Primary Chinese course is basically the same as that of Xishu dialect,except for the phonetic symbols and the processing of entering tones.Compared with the contemporary Chengdu dialect,the West China Elementary Chinese course has more back and side tones,and more finals.Through the textual research and analysis of dialect words in teaching materials,it is found that dialect words have the characteristics of rich cultural connotation,vivid form and retaining ancient word meaning.Through the investigation of the typical functional words "Dao","Qi" and "Gei" in the textbook,it is found that "Dao" and "Qi" in Chengdu dialect have more usages than those in "West China Primary Chinese course",while "Gei" has fewer usages.In the teaching part,it mainly studies the distribution of phonetic items,the translation and annotation of dialect words,and the distribution of special grammatical phenomena.On this basis,it studies the value and limitations of the West China Primary Chinese course.It summarizes the Enlightenment of the phonetic compilation of teaching Chinese as a foreign language: first,choose the appropriate phonetic methods and phonetic symbols.Second,the content of voice should be as comprehensive as possible.Third,the distribution of voice items should be balanced.The Enlightenment of compiling dialect words in foreign dialect textbooks: first,select dialect words with local and cultural characteristics.Second,the translation and annotation of dialect words should be accurate and comprehensive.The Enlightenment of compiling grammar for teaching Chinese as a foreign language: first,choose typical and commonly used grammar points.Second,arrange grammar points around the theme of the text.Third,the translation and interpretation of grammar points should be accurate. |
