Multimedia-assisted instruction is the trend of the times,and more and more teachers will use multimedia resources such as multimedia courseware and film and television works when teaching culture.The further development of social networks has given birth to the emergence and popularity of self-media videos.Foreign self-media bloggers in China,with their special cross-cultural identity,combined with their own real experiences,have produced a large number of creative videos that integrate Chinese and foreign cultures,and output real Chinese culture from the perspective of a personal experience,which effectively makes up for the defect of ungrounded output of Chinese culture,and can also supplement the vacancy of teaching resources of Chinese as a foreign language.Confucius Institute at Korea Foreign Studies University practices the teaching philosophy of "language and culture are not separated from each other",and pays attention to teaching language skills,and also carries out many courses and activities related to Chinese culture.However,for the primary students,because of their limited level,there are some difficulties in cultural teaching.There is no special culture class in the elementary class,but students are very interested in Chinese culture.Therefore,it is feasible to use the self-media videos of foreigners in China for cultural expansion in language classes.Based on previous studies,this paper studies this topic with the author’s classroom teaching cases as reference,which is divided into five chapters:The first chapter is the introduction.The main contents of this chapter are the reason,significance,literature review and research methods.The literature review mainly introduces the research of multimedia in teaching Chinese as a foreign language and teaching Chinese as a foreign language,and the research of the use of self-media videos in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.The second chapter is the feasibility analysis of foreigners’ self-media videos used in cultural teaching in China.This chapter analyzes the characteristics of self-media video,its correlation with Chinese cultural content and cross-cultural value.Finally,combining the teaching situation of Korean Confucius Institute and the cultural learning needs of elementary students,it proves that the application of self-media video by foreigners in China is theoretically feasible.The third chapter is the practical research of foreigners’ self-media videos in cultural teaching in China.This chapter analyzes the specific situation of teaching from three aspects:video selection principles,video editing skills and presentation of teaching cases.In video selection,we should adhere to the principles of pertinence,relevance,culture and cultural stand;In terms of editing skills,we can adopt editing merging,changing speed and adding subtitles.In the presentation of teaching cases,the practical application of self-media videos of foreigners in China in national conditions culture,daily culture and achievement culture is taken as an example to show,including video selection instructions and teaching implementation process.The fourth chapter analyzes the teaching effect and suggestions of foreigners’ self-media videos in China.This chapter summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of media videos through the analysis of classroom cases and student interview results.Self-media video is beneficial to attract students’ attention,promote Chinese culture,reshape Chinese image and reflect students’ interest orientation,but at the same time,there are some problems in teaching,such as low quality of video content,separation of language and culture teaching and neglect of deep culture.Based on the above analysis,this chapter also summarizes five teaching suggestions from three aspects:video selection,teaching process and video classification.The fifth part is the conclusion,which makes a brief summary of the research conclusions and shortcomings of this paper.This study proves theoretically and practically the feasibility of using self-media video for primary culture teaching for foreigners in China,and helps Chinese teachers make better use of self-media video resources in future culture teaching.At the same time,it also provides some references for Confucius Institutes and schools to develop audio-visual courses.The classroom cases of this study only take the author’s own teaching as a reference,and can not take into account Chinese learners at all stages and in all native language backgrounds;Because of the author’s lack of teaching experience,he has not provided a teaching example,which is the deficiency of this research.
