Atmospheric Expression Of Light And Shadow In Oil Painting

As an indispensable art expressing language in the painting,light and shadow is often used as a powerful means for expressing personal emotions,and creating a picture overall atmosphere for artists because of its unique artistic expression.Throughout the development process of painting,the artists of each genre have different applications of light and shadows.In the early Western traditional oil painting creation is mainly for more realistic reproduction objects.After that,the lanes and landscapes begin to be a separate painting theme,and the attention of light and shadow reaches a new level.However they still mainly focus on reproducing light.With the increase in the demand for painting in the heart and subjective emotions,more and more artists use light and shadow to serve the work of emotional tone and picture atmosphere.This paper analyzes and summarizes the relationship between light and shadow and picture atmosphere in various periodical artworks,focusing on the specific role and performance of light shadow in atmosphere expression.My series of creation,Light and Shadow is based on this exploration,where the light and shadow is used as the main performance language in the picture,in order to create a quiet,peaceful atmosphere in the work.Combined with individual creative practice,further verification of the specific application and operability of light and shadow in atmosphere in the oil painting,with an extent possible to provide ideas and practical experiences for the creation and research of future related directions.The full text can be divided into three sections,section? starts from the concept of light and picture atmosphere,and then analyzes the importance and specific role of light and shadow at an atmosphere expression by analyzing the example of different painter's work;section? lists several artists affected in my series of creations,as well as analysis of their work and explanation of their impact and help to my creation;section? is analysis and summarize of my series creation.
