Euan uglow(1932-2000)is one of the most influential masters in contemporary British painting.The single fruit or flower in the picture is isolated on the desktop,or a melancholy,indifferent and alienated person is isolated in a monochrome background without spatial perspective,which makes people involuntarily feel the loneliness of loneliness,which arouses the viewer’s deep thought.It seems to be telling the distance between people,the distance between the subject and the object,the model and the artist.This is a true portrayal of Uglow in the modern and contemporary environment.He is in the midst of the surging artistic transformation of modern and contemporary art.His paintings are derived from classics and are combined with modern paintings.At the same time,they lack the sharpness of modern art paintings,so they are not recognized and regarded as Marginalized painter.But in the lonely and lonely time,he is still not affected by the impetuous society,constantly absorbing new nourishment,daring to try new painting language,and expressing his loneliness in his creation in a rational way.Uglow’s unique painting style and human attitude have both had a great influence on the author.This paper takes the expression of lonely emotions in Yoann Uglow’s paintings as the entry point,and under the influence of Uglow’s paintings,combines his professional knowledge and painting techniques to integrate and transform them,solving the problem of how to express painting emotions,creative ideas and thoughts,as well as exploring the innovation in oil painting creation.This paper is divided into four chapters: Chapter 1 gives an overview of the emotion of loneliness in painting,from three aspects: the generation of lonely emotion,the intake of the painter’s lonely emotion,and the embodiment of lonely emotion in the picture,redefining the loneliness as the author understands it,facilitating others’ understanding of loneliness,and facilitating the subsequent research on Uglow’s emotional expression.Chapter 2 focuses on the sources of loneliness in Uglow’s paintings,and analyzes the origins of Uglow’s loneliness in terms of the environment of the time,regional influences,and painting experiences.The third chapter will start with Uglow’s works and specifically analyze the loneliness emotion in his paintings,and discuss how to express the loneliness emotion from the aspects of artistic language and subject matter,which is the focus of this paper.The fourth chapter is also the key chapter,mainly from the author’s own creation,and then inspired by Uglow’s paintings,from the conception of creation,the feeling of loneliness and the specific creation process,to explain the improvement of his creative ability and the sublimation of his spiritual emotion.The whole process of oil painting creation is also a process of self-understanding,self-analysis and self-transcendence,which further expresses the author’s own creative thinking and inner emotion,and is an important guidance for the author’s future painting path.
