This study examines the developmental patterns of Chinese learners' spoken language at the aggregate and individual levels in terms of complexity, accuracy, and fluency, and examines the dynamic interactions among them within the framework of dynamic systems theory.A dynamic analysis tool(moving polar plot)was used to analyze the data in order to provide a more comprehensive view of the development of Chinese learners' spoken language at the intertemporal level. The empirical study found that at the overall level, the complexity of learners' speaking showed a more significant improvement in the dimension of average sentence length of AS units,a larger increase in vocabulary difficulty, and an insignificant development in the rest of the indicators;in accuracy, learners' speaking showed a more significant improvement in syntactic accuracy than in vocabulary accuracy;in fluency, the reverse indicator made a larger improvement. In addition, complexity and accuracy showed a mutually supportive relationship, but the relationship between the two and fluency was both competitive and supportive, indicating that learners may pay more attention to accuracy and complexity and neglect fluency in speaking. At the individual level, the development of speaking varied widely across learners, with only the same developmental trend in vocabulary accuracy,i.e.,no significant developmental status, while the development of all other dimensions was dynamic and highly variable, and was highly influenced by the initial state, and the variability indicated the importance and necessity of case studies. The study examined a number of factors that influence Chinese learners' oral language development, including their particular learning experiences, language environment, and implicit input. Finally, the study reveals that there is a complex dynamic change relationship among complexity, accuracy and fluency,i.e.,the competing or supporting relationships among the dimensions change as learners' speaking levels develop or change over time. The study also summarized three patterns based on the dynamic change relationships among complexity, accuracy, and fluency of Chinese learners:the zero-change pattern, the regular-change pattern, and the irregular-change pattern.
