A Study Of Epistolary Words In "Books Of Celebrities Of The Qing Dynasty"

Book Notes of Celebrities in the Qing Dynasty was selected,sorted,and edited by the library staff of Beijing Normal University based on the original Qing Dynasty books in the collection,with a total of more than 1,100 letters and more than 250,000 words.The content they involve is very broad,and the words are elegant and the format is courteous.They are one of the important materials for us to study the language of ancient letters.Correspondence words are the core that distinguishes letters from other styles.Researching them helps us grasp the letter etiquette of the ancients and understand the traditional letter culture.Therefore,we use Book Notes of Celebrities in the Qing Dynasty as the research material to analyze the types and characteristics of letters and words,and explore the general situation of their use.This article includes three parts: introduction,body and conclusion.The introduction part summarizes the letter materials and the current research status of letter words.The ancient letters of our country are voluminous and rich in content,and they have high research value in literature,philology,language and philology and so on.So far,although many research results have been obtained in the fields of literature and philology,there are not many studies on letters and words from the perspective of linguistics.Therefore,this article conducts further research on the basis of predecessors.The main text includes four chapters: The first chapter is the study of Jingqian words.There are a large number of Jingqian words in "Shuzha".We first classify and describe them,and then explore the ways of expressing respect and modesty,such as repetition.Use appellations,use rhetoric,etc.They run through the lines of the letter,which makes the language of the letter appear polite and courteous as a whole.The second chapter is the research of greeting words.The most characteristic of greeting words in "Shuzha" is that they are rich in literary style and diverse expressions.They embody the art of greetings of the ancients from the perspective of written language: by using greetings such as blessings,greetings,compliments,and apologies,they can play a role in shortening the social distance between each other and promoting emotional communication.The third chapter is the research of euphemism words.We mainly classify and describe the euphemism words in "Shuzha",and then explore the way of expressing euphemism.Appropriate use of euphemisms can resolve embarrassment in communication and promote communication.Many euphemisms in "Shuzha" still have reference significance for today’s euphemism.The fourth chapter is the study of special words.Except for some appellations,most of the special words used in "Shuzha" are only used within the scope of letters,so they have certain speciality for letters.After analysis,we found that they show the characteristics of formatting and immobilization in "Shuzha",and some of the words and formats still have a certain impact on the writing of letters or official documents today.The third part is the conclusion,which mainly summarizes the content of this article,points out the shortcomings of this article,and further discusses the future research work.
