Float Art Design Research

Floats have outstanding performance in various celebrations,festivals,folklore or other ritual social activities.In essence,floats are extremely social design and creative activities.Their visual form varies with the nature of the activity or the content of the theme,and usually has clear narrative,decorative and interactive features.The process of designing floats needs to use a series of decorative form construction methods to effectively transform the narrative theme into visual form.Thematic elements such as graphics,patterns,images and materials are presented through multiple styles such as reproduction and abstraction,symbolism and metaphor,exaggeration and irony,science fiction and folklore.In this process,designers need open information exchange,keen visual analysis,logical form conversion,as well as the comprehensive ability of cross-boundary technology application,so as to design the art form of floats in line with the contemporary social context,and promote the psychological cognition and multi-dimensional experience of the social public and the recipient group.
