Qiao Zhongchang's "Later Chibi Futu" Brushwork Analysis

Qiao Zhongchang of the Northern Song Dynasty used the dry brush and Goucun technique in the painting of " Houchibifutu," which made the painting form a fresh artistic style and unique in the painting world at that time.In this paper,from the ideological background,stroke theory and technical inheritance three angles,analyze the causes of " Houchibifutu".Secondly,from the scenery depiction of " Houchibifutu",analyze the shape and texture of Qiao Zhongchang's dry brush Goucun,and then analyze the calligraphy style of "Houchibifutu" and its influence on later painters.Finally,the author summarizes the brush style of landscape painting from four aspects of stroke strength,stroke meaning,stroke nature and stroke style,in order to form a more systematic and in-depth understanding of the brush style of landscape painting.
