"Contemporary localism" as an architectural concept has been gradually discussed in China since the 1990 s and continues to be discussed today.This paper takes the multidimensional space built by Professor Zhang Lei of Nanjing University under the standpoint of "contemporary localism" and combines it with the development of multidimensional innovation of physical bookstore space nowadays,and takes continuity as the entry point of research,focusing on the physical,spiritual and social attributes of space.The first chapter discusses the creation of rural bookstore space in the process of Professor Zhang Lei's contemporary vernacular practice.The first chapter begins with the background and conceptual analysis of "contemporary localism" and analyzes the multidimensional characteristics of space and the connotation of continuity under the view of contemporary vernacular architecture.Chapter 4 uses Professor Zhang Lei's construction methods and architectural concepts in the face of rural bookstore space,and uses the Wusi Mountain in Lishui District,Nanjing as the site for an experimental design of a bookstore in rural space,taking into account the current transformation of bookstores.
