Festivals are a form of folk culture created by people to meet the needs of production and life.It is the concentrated display of national spirit,living habits,thoughts and emotions.Chinese festival culture is part and parcel of the international promotion of Chinese language and also an important window for the world to understand Chinese culture.Chinese Spring Festival and the Navruz Festival in Kazakhstan are the largest and most significant non-religious traditional festivals celebrated by people throughout the two countries respectively.Based on the Theory of Cultural Self-consciousness,this study takes the Chinese Spring Festival and the Navruz Festival of Kazakhstan as the research objects and aims to explore the similarities and differences between the Spring Festival and Navruz via the comparison of the two,so as to put forward the strategies of Spring Festival cultural communication in the international promotion of Chinese in Kazakhstan.Firstly,this study sorted out and summarized previous studies on the Cultural Selfconsciousness Theory,Chinese international promotion,festival culture,Spring Festival and Navruz Festival systematically and analyzed the relationship between the Cultural Self-consciousness Theory and Chinese international promotion.It was found that the two shared the same historical background,common essential connotation and consistent value pursuit,which proves the feasibility of studying the international promotion of Chinese from the perspective of Cultural Self-consciousness Theory.Secondly,this study collected and collated data on the current situation of the dissemination of the Spring Festival culture in Kazakhstan,summarized the current situation on the spread of the Spring Festival culture in the international promotion of Chinese in Kazakhstan and analyzed its problems existing in communication subject,content and scope.Furthermore,based on the process of“各美其美,美人之美,美美与共,天下大同”,which literally means“every form of beauty has its uniqueness,what is precious is to appreciate other forms of beauty with open-mindedness.If beauty represents itself with diversity and integrity,the world will be blessed with harmony and unity”,in the Cultural Self-consciousness Theory,this study systematically discussed the festival cultural connotation,festival origin,festival legend,festival diet custom,festival activity custom and festival taboo of Chinese Spring Festival and Navruz Festival in Kazakhstan and compared the similarities and differences between the two.On this basis,this study combines the Theory of the Cultural Selfconsciousness and the characteristics of international promotion of Chinese from the perspective of the cultural subject consciousness of the Spring Festival cultural communication,the cultural other consciousness under the comparison of Navruz Festival and the cultural creation consciousness of integrating tradition and modernity,and puts forward the strategy of international promotion of Chinese in Kazakhstan. |
