A Preliminary Study Of Jacques Rancière's Aesthetic Heterotopia

Today,Jaquez Jacques Rancière is one of the leading French left-wing thinkers.The paper aims at sorting out his “Aesthetic heterotopia” thought and proposing a new perspective of aesthetic theory.First of all,the thesis examines the way of constructing his Aesthetic heterotopia,namely,“Equality” as the logical starting point,“Distribution” as the state of placement,“Sense of ambiguity”as the way of Reconstruction.Second,the paper clarifies the present state of the free liberation of Aesthetic heterotopia,that is to say,the constructing subject who obtains the liberation by “Pure gaze”,is free to “Play” in the space of heterotopia,and shows the “Picture” of “Doing nothing”.Finally,the thesis compares Jacques Rancière's inheritance and criticism of Michel Foucault's“heterotopia”,and focuses on the value and problems of his theory: Firstly,it affirms the theoretical value and practical value of “Aesthetic heterotopia” as well as its contribution to the discipline construction.Secondly,it points out that “Aesthetic heterotopia” is confronted with three problems:theoretical failure,lack of feasibility and easy to breed extremism.Jacques Rancière's thought of“Aesthetic heterotopia” is of great significance to contemporary aesthetics because of its internal identity of “Politics” and “Aesthetics” and its call for “Equality”.
