The Design Of The Epic Picture Book "Cham" Of The Yi People In Yunnan

Epics serve as an important carrier of national spirit.Epics have a huge capacity of texts,including the basic history of human society from the origin of humans to the creation,from early life to agricultural production,as well as from migration to the formation of nationalities.As one of the representative stories of the Yi nationality,the "Chamu" epic contains the values in the social background and embodies the society at that time.However,due to the impact of foreign culture and other factors,since only a few inheritors can fully narrate the content of the epic at present,the "Chamu" epic almost fails to be handed down to the next generations.Thus,how to develop and inherit this national epic has become a difficult problem.The paper aims to take the existing "Chamu" epic materials as the original version and collect data about the clothing,living environment,traditional architecture of the Yi nationality described in the "Chamu" epic based on the investigation of Shuangbai County,Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture,Yunnan Province.Besides,the paper summarizes the different personality traits,designs the character images for different characters,and analyzes the literature for the story script design.Meantime,the plot scene is set based on the local geographic environment factors.On the basis of analyzing the content of the epic of Chamu of Yunnan Yi nationality,this paper makes a thorough study of the formal language of the epic and probes into the artistic connotation of the epic of Chamu.Based on the study of the epic culture of Chamu of the Yi nationality in Yunnan,this paper designs the epic of Chamu of Yunnan,and creates an epic picture book that can promote the cultural development of the Yi nationality and has the characteristics of the Yi nationality in Yunnan.Picture books can effectively expand the ways of ethnic minority cultural development,enhance people’s understanding of the "Chamu" culture of the Yi people in Yunnan,help the public to understand ethnic minority language and culture,ideological cognition,social customs and other aspects,and deepen the depth of cognition of the Yi culture.
